Claudia takes a holistic approach to your animal’s treatment. The first appointment will begin by running through some details including the work or exercise pattern, feeding regime, the tack/harness used, history of injuries and any specific issues or concerns. This gives a comprehensive picture and highlights any potential contraindications.
Your animal is evaluated while standing and then is led up in walk and trot for dynamic assessments as this can help with understanding problems and weaknesses, and correlate with the history taken. Claudia will then palpate along specific bony landmarks of the spine, from the atlas, the cervical, thoracic and lumbar vertebrae, through the pelvis and to the tail. She is looking for misalignments, spasms, areas of discomfort and gleaning further relevant information. Following this, she can decide upon the best approach and make the appropriate adjustments.
To optimise the effectiveness of the session, Claudia may also draw from an additional range of therapies if required: sports massage, physio techniques, myofascial release, trigger point and positional release, muscle energy techniques, kinesiology taping (for horses) and an infra-red light tool.
