One thing all McTimoney practitioners need to obtain before treatment is veterinary consent. This is a legal requirement under the Veterinary Act 1966 and allows better communication between treating professionals and improves care and welfare for your pet.
Only a vet can diagnose, prescribe or advise an animal’s ailment, and subsequently perform surgery. In order to treat, a physiotherapist, osteopath or chiropractor can be part of a vet led team however the vet must give consent. The supplemental Charter of 2015 reaffirms this.
